I believe all humans deserve to see characters like themselves in literature. Everyone needs representation.
We are taking the pledge because we believe that all children deserve to see themselves represented in all fairytales and know that their wildest dreams are possible.
We all need to read, to dream, to escape to a fantasy land.
Books are where it’s at Read, Read, Read 🙂
My goal is to consistently provide text that reflect, inspire and ensure that children of Color understand that reading should be habitual and that there our heroes and heroines in books that look just like them.
All voices are essential, I will stand with LGBTQ & BIPOC authors and readers always.
Our community is very diverse, and I am committed to provide books from different voices in the library.
