In Florida, children’s access to diverse books is under political attack. My LFL is one way to supplement the books children have available to them.
I want children to grow up having a chance to see life through someone else’s eyes.
We live in a diverse community, my children are bi-racial and it is so important for all people to see themselves in books and have access to them!
I want the children in my community to be able to see a black child who is a doctor. Lawyer, engineer, nurse, chef whatever career that choose in life. They can become who they want
Representation of all races, all religions, all abilities, and those on the queer spectrum is vital. We provide books that offer a mirror to these communities. Our goal is to unite families and open minds one book at a time.
My little library focus on Indigenous narratives and as an Indigenous woman I want our voice amplified. For far too long our stories are told by Europeans. Our voice deserve to be heard.
We live in a very diverse community and need to provide reading materials which reflect the community we live in as much as possible
