We pledge because the Read In Color Pledge is important for everyone in our schools, our families and communities but also extremely valuable for diversity and inclusion especially when we include people with disabilities (PWDs) in the positive impact of this pledge.
All people’s stories should be told.

Diverse books allow us a peek into different human emotions and experiences, expanding empathy/understanding. The Little Free Library below the Falls intentionally stocks books from a broad range of writers so visitors “meet” books with new backgrounds and life experiences OR books that may speak to visitors’ *own* life experiences.
Everybody is God’s children!
It is so important for everyone to have books that mirror their own lives and experiences, and the rest of us need a window into their world so we can understand them better and be better friends and allies.
