It has always been the misssion of the East Oakland LFL to provide books and stories written by authors who mirror its residents by providing primarily diverse titles
We encourage our readers to be diverse and open-minded. We believe this is will help build great futures.
Offering books about social Justice and particularly about racism and diversity is an opportunity to educate our communities!
We want our library to celebrate beautiful human diversity and the unique value of every individual. As Franciscans, we look at the diversity of the natural world and are convinced that the Creator loves variety!
Promote literacy in our diverse urban community through our LFL. We want to continue to provide opportunities to engage with books in many languages across many genres.
