I’ve always been committed to sharing diverse stories through reading with my own children and beyond. My first donate to LFL included 14 books featuring stories of and by POC, even before I knew of “Read In Color”. Great minds think alike! Wonderful mission!
Sharing diverse books is important because it helps to empower and grow readers!
We must be the humane middle; the undividers, the includers for the future and our world.
Many kids in inner city communities don’t have much access to books that relate to them. So my hopes with bringing Read in Color to my own community will provide more access to black and brown books all year round.
My grandson is bilingual and I live in a diverse community!
