Ollie and I (McKenna) both know the importance of a good book, a new perspective, and a place to feel safe. Our hope is to provide all of those things and dream of a world where there is literacy and justice for all!
We hope to share books that represent ourselves and to share those books with others. We also hope to read books that represent people who are different from ourselves, so that we may learn and grow.
We’re taking the Read in Color Pledge, because everyone’s voice should be heard. We think that to get a better understanding of the world is through a book. Weather it’s someone’s heritage, religious point of view, political views or just to improve oneself. We hundred precent believe knowledge is power.

We’re reading in color because our world is filled with diverse stories, experiences and history. The beautiful colors of the world should be celebrated and shared. Our library pledges to share diverse stories and promote equity.
Minneapolis is a very diverse community, and being on the front lines of anti racism I find it important to uplift more diverse characters for my neighbors.
