Every person deserves to be represented.
We believe inclusion and representation matters in reading and in life. We want kids and adults alike to see themselves and the beauty of others in books. We all grow and learn with diversity as a corner stone.
I steward a LFL at an urban, public adult school. Our entire population of students is marginalized in one way or another: immigrants, low, non-white, low-income, housing insecure, LBGTQ+, learning and physical disabilities, lacking a high school diploma, low level literacy, etc.
