Kids (and adults, for that matter) benefit from reading about the experiences of a wide variety of people. It is the only way as a community we will see the value and benefit from the wonderful diversity of our world.
I am an avid reader. There is nothing I love more than being lost in a book. I want my daughter to love to read as well. This pledge is important to me because I love books.
I believe that everyone deserves dignity and respect regardless of their disability, sexuality or nationality.
I’m taking this pledge as a POC because growing up there was very little characters I could resonate with or even see myself reflected in. I make it a personal mission always to diversify my personal reading and I will do the same once I have my LFL up.
