Every person should be able to see themselves in or relate to the stories offered. We strive for inclusiveness. This also exposes others to cultures that they may otherwise be unaware of.
Everyone should see themselves in stories and we should all be exposed to stories from perspectives outside our own. I am committed to reading and sharing diverse stories with my family and my community and helping to get diverse stories into underserved communities.
Diverse voices and perspectives are important to build respect and empathy for one another.
Because I believe reading is a right not a priviledge. Reading takes you places even though you’re static. Reading is enjoyable and necessary.
I believe EVERY child, EVERY person should be able to see themselves in a book. I commit to help make this happen and to always celebrate diversity.
