Important for children to see all kinds of voices represented and all kinds of stories told
I believe every person should see themselves in the pages of the books they read. I will use any and all resources available to me to increase access to diverse books in my community.
I believe that “love thy neighbor” has dwindled in society and I want to bring it back in my community!
Books should serve as both windows and mirrors. Everyone deserves to see themselves in a book but even more important is that readers see beyond their own experiences and into the world of others. Reading in color helps us recognize that our differences make our stories stronger and more beautiful!
