As our schools are forced to omit the history of all people in our country, it falls on us bookworms to address that lack and get good info out to our neighbors.
I think it’s important for everyone to see themselves in the books they read. It’s especially important for children; if they see a leader or person of importance that looks like them, they can see themselves succeed, too! Books can change lives 🙂

Everyone deserves to read about people like them and also people different from them. Reading is one of the best ways to feel seen and learn about other people in a safe, low-stakes way. This is especially true for kids growing up, who will make the future
