Our community is not very diverse so I love opening my neighbor’s (children and adult) eyes to stories with diverse characters and settings
Being a part of SOAL at the Lincoln Cemetery has increased my knowledge of African American history and I would like to continue to gain knowledge and access while also providing this for our community.

International Kiwanis serves youth and adults all across the world. The Lourie Center membership is inclusive to all folks 50+ years old as well as the Golden K Kiwanis Club of Columbia, SC.
I’m someone with grandchildren and sometimes work with other groups of children. I know the importance of starting the exposure and normalcy of a diverse community from early days in a child’s life..day 1 if possible!
We want the books in our Little Free Library to represent the community we are in. It is ethnically and racially diverse and incredibly beautiful.
