For too long the publishing companies have ignored the talent and critical need for books to reflect the diversity of our communities- instead forcing a standard of whiteness. I hope my little free library can help shift this trend and help us all expand our horizons.

As a middle school English teacher, my number one passion in life is providing high quality diverse literature to others in order to promote the building of empathy and understanding of others, as well as allowing others to see themselves represented positively in literature.
I live and teach in a diverse community, and I want my library to reflect my community, and my neighbors to be able to relate to the books they find in my library.
