As someone who grew up always seeing myself depicted in stories and media, I feel that everyone deserves to have this same experience. It’s important for all people to fee that they are important and relevant, especially at young ages.
In order to build a lifelong love of reading, children must see themselves in the books that they read. Little Free Library’s Read in Color effort is doing this and making all the difference to families with young children.
Our organization is committed to ensuring children in our service area have access to books celebrating diversity.
We want to be about of the change! And it’s important to remind little readers in our neighborhood they can dream and experience the world the see and read in books.
