Recruit Volunteers
Is your organization looking to grow the book supply for your Little Free Libraries? Fill out the form below!
This option is a good fit for organizations who have a one-time need for books, or who want to test the experience of using the Little Free Library volunteer hub before committing to the full affiliate option (see below). You can request volunteer support for restocking, coordinating a book drive, or other needs to sustain your book-sharing boxes.
Volunteers will need to complete a Little Free Library waiver and agree to our volunteer handbook. If needed, we can add additional waivers or forms from your organization.

Become a GivePulse Affiliate
Do you need volunteers for multiple opportunities, on an ongoing basis? Become a GivePulse affiliate with us!
This option is best for organizations with multiple, ongoing volunteer opportunities related to their Little Free Libraries.
Community partners can create their own GivePulse group, or use their existing GivePulse group, to recruit volunteers for their organization through Little Free Library’s volunteer hub. You’ll be expected to manage all of your own volunteer listings.
How to Connect:
- Create a GivePulse group for your organization and post a volunteer opportunity.
- Complete the affiliation request form for Little Free Library.
What to Expect
- We’ll follow up within 2-3 business days to set up either the one-time volunteer request or the affiliation.
- Volunteers recruited are volunteers for the community partner organization, not volunteers for Little Free Library.
- Little Free Library will list these opportunities on our GivePulse volunteer hub and the Team LFL page on our website. On the Team LFL page, community partner volunteer opportunities will be displayed as pins on our map.
- Little Free Library will refer potential volunteers in your geographic area to your group’s LFL-related opportunities.
- The volunteer opportunities promoted through this affiliation must be related to and benefit LFL book-sharing boxes.
Which Option is the Best Fit?
Do you already have your own platform/tool to manage volunteer registration?

It may be easier to use the GivePulse event submission form and include a link for volunteers to sign up on your own platform. Or, work with Little Free Library Community Engagement Manager (volunteer@lfl.stpaulmedia.net) to share a link to your platform’s volunteer opportunity list and staff can make referrals when volunteers in your area reach out to us.

Examples

Team LFL volunteer Terra organized a book drive with her fellow employees at two Stewart Title offices in Houston and Denver. They were able to collect almost 600 books between the two offices. Terra wrote, “Overall, this was a very positive experience for me and my team. LFL has a great communication team that gave helpful tips on running a Book Drive. This was my first time organizing an event as such, but the instructions helped make the process seamless.” The team then distributed the books to Little Free Libraries in Houston in Denver.

Team LFL volunteer Phoebe coordinated a book drive to help stock Little Free Libraries in Buford, GA and collected 630 books. Phoebe said, “I love sharing a love for reading and knowledge for kids in my community. 630 books is a ton. I will have many to restock as needed.”

Team LFL volunteer Gabz signed up to distribute books in a book desert zip code in Washington DC. Gabz said, “For my first time officially distributing books with LFL I had a nice experience overall. The map on the app was very helpful for plugging in the addresses within a small radius that was easy to walk to or access by bus. Every library that I visited that was listed as a “book desert” was either nearly or entirely empty as expected, so it felt really good to be able to replenish them with some brand new titles.”
